Originally constructed in 1968, the building has been a landmark in Regina’s downtown core for five decades.  The Government of Canada purchased the building in 2002 to provide single-window access to federal government services to the community.

Starting August 2017, The Government of Canada (PWGSC) contracted CCR Construction Ltd. to complete an extensive 10 floor occupied building renovation.  The project is to be completed in three phases over a two year period.  The project included concurrent hazardous material abatement as well as major building systems upgrade including HVAC, DCD, data, distribution, fire alarm, security, CCTV, plumbing, building envelope, fire rating, code compliant egress, shaft wall and structural.  Also included was the removal of the “Treats” cafeteria and the development of a new Environment Canada state of the art laboratory, with integrated security system, as well as a complete interior finish refurbishment of ten floors.
