The Utility Shop and East Annex Renovations were a two phase renovation to the service space for the employees at Boundary Dam. It was a complex project involving decommissioning of an overhead crane in an existing occupied building, then transforming that existing space into a high use Cafeteria, Locker Room and Office Area for their employee use.

Inherent to all SaskPower projects, schedule was critical. Phase One of this project included the transformation of the Utility Shop into a functional multi-purpose facility. All construction occurred adjacent to the existing and active Main Office Complex, with only a partition wall dividing these two dissimilar processes.

Phase One of this project was required to achieve substantial completion prior to Phase Two work commencing.   Resource allocation and consistent management of extended lead time materials was critical to the success of this Phase and inevitably resulted in CCR finishing ahead of schedule. This provide both the Owner and CCR with extra time and comfort going forward to the next stage of the project.

Phase Two (East Annex) included the demolition  of an existing Office/ Lunchroom Facility and transforming it into a fully functional Women’s Locker and Shower Room..  This phase included work within the Power Generation Plant, and was also next to occupied offices, labs and testing facilities.
